TAPS (Tragedy Assistance Program for Survivors) and GRIT (Generating Resilience, Independence and Tenacity) teamed up for a four day family camp experience for TAPS families at Camp Ho Mita Koda in Ohio. TAPS provides comfort, care and resources to all those grieving the death of a military loved one and they do it through experiences like their family camps. The goal was to combine the knowledge and practices of the TAPS program counselors with the resilience and values focused training of GRIT Adventures. Families learned skills aimed at helping them to identify their family's values and work as a team to overcome obstacles and challenges culminating in a challenge race that was fun for everyone.
